WCHA LAUNCHES “PICK YOUR FINAL FIVE” SWEEPSTAKES AND HOCKEY DAY MINNESOTA TICKET OFFER

Fans are invited to predict the 2015 WCHA Final Five participants for a chance to win four tickets to the 2016 Broadmoor Trophy championship tournament

Per WCHA Release —

In celebration of this weekend’s Hockey Day Minnesota, the men’s Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) is starting the countdown to the next landmark event in the State of Hockey – the 2015 WCHA Final Five, slated for March 20 and 21 at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul. The league today announced the return of the popular “Pick Your Final Five” sweepstakes, an online contest to win tickets to the 2016 WCHA Final Five.

Running today through Monday, March 9, the “Pick Your Final Five” sweepstakes invites fans to predict the four WCHA schools who will advance to the 2015 event, which two teams will advance to the Championship game, which team will raise the Broadmoor Trophy and, as a tiebreaker, how many goals will be scored in three-game tournament. One (1) winner will receive four (4) ticket packages to the 2016 WCHA Final Five, scheduled for March 18 and 19, 2016 at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Also beginning today and running through Sunday, Jan. 18, the WCHA will offer a special 2015 Final Five “Me Plus Three” ticket offer. Fans can visit ticketmaster.com and enter the promo code “HOCKEYDAY” to purchase four (4) ticket packages for the price of three (3). Each package, affordably priced at $69 apiece, includes a ticket to all three Final Five games at the Xcel Energy Center – the two semifinal contests of Friday, March 20 and the Broadmoor Trophy championship game on Saturday, March 21.

With the league’s jewel event two months away, new national No. 1 Minnesota State leads three WCHA teams ranked in the top-15 nationally (also No. 7 Bowling Green and No. 11 Michigan Tech). The top-ranked Mavericks have a six-point lead in the chase for the MacNaughton Cup, while the Huskies lead the Falcons by a point for second place. Just three points separate a trio of teams – Ferris State, Northern Michigan and Bemidji State – who are jostling for fourth place and the final WCHA home ice playoff spot.
