1940: Frankie Brimsek recorded his 17th career shutout as the Boston Bruins became the second team in NHL history to win 150 road games when they won 2-0 against the Black Hawks at Chicago.
1965: Tommy Williams scored twice as the Bruins won 3-2 over the Canadiens, in Boston. It was only the second time in 11 games in the 1965-66 season that the Bruins scored more than two goals in a game.
1970: Cesare Maniago got his 12th career shutout at the Met Center as the Minnesota North Stars won 3-0, in their first game ever against the expansion Buffalo Sabres.
1975: Detroit Red Wings traded Bryan Hextall Jr. to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Rick Chinnick.
1979: Tim Young scored twice and added an assist as the Minnesota North Stars began a team-record 13 game home undefeated streak (10-0-3), with a 3-1 win over the New York Islanders.
1982: Mark Pavelich scored a natural hat trick (the first of his NHL career) and added an assist as the Rangers beat the Islanders 7-3, at MSG.
2001: Manny Fernandez recorded his 6th career shutout as the Wild recorded their second consecutive shutout at San Jose, with a 2-0 win over the Sharks.
2002: Jason Blake scored two goals and two assists, and Jason Wiemer had a goal and three assists in the Islanders 7-2 win over the Lightning at Tampa Bay.
2007: Zach Parise scored two power-play goals to lead the Devils to a 2-1 win against the Penguins at Pittsburgh.
2008: Goaltender Kevin Weekes picked up his 100th career NHL victory when the Devils beat the visiting New York Islanders 5-2. Zach Parise led the scoring with three assists.
2008: Anaheim’s Bret Hedican played in his 1,000th NHL game, a 3-2 overtime loss at St. Louis. Hedican reached the milestone against the team he had begun his NHL career with.
2009: Minnesota Wild claimed center Andrew Ebbett off waivers from the Chicago Blackhawks.
2010: Atlanta’s Dustin Byfuglien set a team record for defenseman with his fourth game winning goal of the season, when he scored at 1:30 of overtime (after a regulation assist) to give the Thrashers a 2-1 win over the visiting New York Islanders.
