1961: Former NHL left winger, and Minnesota North Stars ‘enforcer’ Basil McRae birthday.
1972: Bill Goldsworthy scored two goals and an assist, and Jude Drouin had a goal and three assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 4-2 win against Detroit at the Met Center.
1975: New York Islanders obtained left-wing J. P. Parise from the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Ernie Hicke and Doug Rombough.
1975: Charlie Burns took over as the Minnesota North Stars’ head coach, replacing Jack Gordon.
1975: New York Islanders traded Bob Cook to the Minnesota North Stars for cash.
1977: Doug Hicks scored three goals and rookie Glen Sharpley had three assists as the Minnesota North Stars won 5-2 over the visiting L.A. Kings.
1980: Bobby Smith scored a goal and added an assist as the Minnesota North Stars extended their team-record home undefeated streak to 11 straight games (8-0-3), with a 2-2 tie against the Washington Capitals.
1985: Mike Ramsey picked up three assists to lead Buffalo to a 7-3 win over the Islanders at Long Island.
1985: Brian Bellows scored two goals and an assist and Keith Acton had a goal and two assists as the Minnesota North Stars tied 4-4 with the Flames at Calgary.
1985: New Jersey’s Aaron Broten extended his team-record consecutive game assist streak to 8 straight in the Devils’ 5-4 win against the visiting Montreal Canadiens.
1989: Neal Broten had three assists as the North Stars won 5-3 over the Flyers in Minnesota.
1990: New Jersey traded Aaron Broten to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Bob Brooke.
1998: Minnesota Wild announces a 26-year partnership agreement with the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission (MASC). This partnershp marks the first partnership of its kind between a private sector professional sports team and a public sector amateur sports organization.
2001: Rookie defenseman Filip Kuba scored two goals, including the winner at 2:58 of overtime as the Minnesota Wild won 3-2 against the visiting Red Wings to extend their unbeaten streak to 8 games (5-0-3), an NHL record for expansion teams.
2008: Phoenix rookie Peter Mueller, a Bloomington MN native, scored the only goal in a shootout and had an assist in regulation as the Coyotes won 3-2 over the visiting Anaheim Ducks.
2011: Minnesota Wild signed free agent Jed Ortmeyer.
