1940: Former NHL center Gord Labossiere born in St. Boniface, Man. Labossiere played in the NHL 1963-64 through 1971-72 with the New York Rangers, Los Angeles and the Minnesota North Stars.
1950: Former NHL left winger Dave Cressman born in Kitchener, Ont. Cressman played in the NHL 1974-75 through 1975-76 with the Minnesota North Stars.
1974: Murray Oliver and J.P. Parise each scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to an 8-4 win against Pittsburgh at the Met Center.
1975: Former NHL defenseman Rick Mrozik born in Duluth, Minnesota. Mrozik played in the NHL 2002-03 with Calgary.
1980: Minnesota North Stars extended their team-record home undefeated streak to 10 straight games (8-0-2) with a 2-1 win over the Boston Bruins.
1982: Dino Ciccarelli scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 6-2 win against the Maple Leafs at Toronto.
1983: NHL center Andrew Ebbett born in Vernon, B.C. Ebbett has played in the NHL since 2007-08 with Anaheim, Chicago, the Minnesota Wild, Phoenix and Vancouver.
1984: Mark Napier scored two goals and an assist, Dino Ciccarelli had a goal and two assists, and Dennis Maruk added three assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 6-5 win against Chicago at the Met Center.
1989: Washington goalie Pete Peeters recorded his 17th career shutout, and Dave Christian scored two goals and added an assist as the Capitals won 8-0 over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.
1991: Curt Giles became the North Stars’ all-time leader in games played, when he appeared in his 731st contest in a Minnesota uniform, a 6-2 North Stars’ loss at Detroit.
1993: Ottawa’s Mike Peluso picked up 24 penalty minutes in a 7-2 loss vs Buffalo.
1999: Ottawa’s Damian Rhodes became the first goalie in NHL history to score a goal and get a shutout in the same game, in the Senators’ first ever shutout against New Jersey, a 6-0 win over the visiting Devils.
2002: Dwayne Roloson recorded his 5th career shutout as the Minnesota Wild had their first ever home shutout against Tamp Bay, a 2-0 win over the visiting Lightning.
2003: Jim Dowd scored the winning goal with 44 seconds remaining in overtime, and Andrei Zyuzin had a goal and an assist to lead the Wild to a 2-1 win against the Oilers at Edmonton.
2007: Minnesota’s Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored two goals and added two assists as the Wild improved to an NHL-best 17-3-1 at home with a 5-1 win against the visiting Atlanta Thrashers.
2008: Boston Bruins obtained Shane Hnidy and a 6th round pick in 2008 from the Anaheim Ducks, in exchange for Brandon Bochenski.
2010: Duluth native Jamie Langenbrunner recorded the first hat trick of his 15 year NHL career and became just the 3rd Minnesota-born player to get a hat trick in a game in his own state as the Devils beat the Wild 5-3.
2011: Dustin Byfuglien scored his third overtime goal of the season (this one coming on a power play at 3:43 of OT) and Ondrej Pavelec made 47 saves to give the Thrashers a 4-3 win at Montreal.
2011: Minnesota’s Jose Theodore picked up his 250th career victory, Saku Koivu had four assists to give him 200 with the Wild and Cam Barker scored at 46 seconds of overtime for a 6-5 win over the visiting Phoenix Coyotes.
