1935: Goaltender Mike Karakas recorded the 4th shutout of his rookie season as the Black Hawks won 1-0 over the visiting Boston Bruins.
1936: Dave Kerr became the second goalie in Rangers history to get 25 career shutouts, when New York tied 0-0 with the visiting Black Hawks. Mike Karakas picked up his 12th career shutout for Chicago.
1938: Chicago Black Hawks obtained Bill Thoms from Toronto, in exchange for Doc Romnes.
1939: Frank Brimsek recorded his 12th career shutout as the Bruins scored three times in the final period to beat the Red Wings 3-0, in Detroit.
1973: Fern Rivard recorded his first NHL shutout as the Minnesota North Stars won 3-0 over Detroit, at the Met Center.
1987: Dave Christian scored his third career hat trick (and his first with Washington), as the Capitals lost 5-4 to the visiting Calgary Flames.
1990: Minnesota’s Brian Hayward got his 7th career shutout as the North Stars won 7-0 over Philadelphia.
1991: Minnesota’s Brian Bellows scored his 300th NHL goal as the North Stars lost 7-2 at Chicago.
2005: Manny Fernandez recorded his 11th career shutout as the Wild recorded their first ever shutout over the Penguins, with a 5-0 win at Pittsburgh.
2007: Wild won 2-1 at Columbus. Minnesota had not won in Columbus (going 0-6-3, since their only other win in 12 games on the Blue Jackets home ice, way back on 1/18/02).
2007: Carolina Hurricanes became just the third team in NHL history to win six straight games in Montreal as Ray Whitney scored twice and Matt Cullen had three assists to lead the Hurricanes to a 5-1 victory over the Canadiens.
2011: Rookie Matt Hackett made 42 saves in his first career start and the Wild set a franchise record with their sixth straight road victory, a 4-2 win at Los Angeles.
