1947: Frankie Brimsek’s 33rd career shutout led the Bruins to a 1-0 win over Montreal in Boston. Brimsek made just 19 saves, as the Bruins snapped an 0-3-4 winless streak.
1982: Los Angeles Kings obtained Rick Blight from Edmonton in exchange for Alan Hangsleben.
1983: Al MacAdam scored two goals and added an assist as the North Stars won 7-2 against the Red Wings, in Minnesota.
1991: St. Louis Blues became just the second post-1967 expansion team to win 500 home games, 6-1 over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins. Dave Christian had two assists in the game to give him 400 career assists.
2000: Minnesota Wild beat the Blackhawks for the third consecutive time to win their season series, 3-games-to-1 with a 4-2 victory at Chicago.
2002: Minnesota’s Marian Gaborik became just the fourth player in NHL history to score five career hat tricks before age 21, when he scored three times in a 4-2 win over the Canucks, in Vancouver.
2006: Mikko Koivu and Brian Rolston each scored power-play goals in regulation, and both scored in the shootout to lead the Wild to a 3-2 win against the visiting Calgary Flames.
