College Hockey America announced on Monday that Shoreview, Minn. native Bella Sutton, a freshman defenseman at Penn State University, has been named its Player of the Week.
Suton score a pair of goals on the weekend, each turning out to be game winners and chipped in an assist as the Nittany Lions swept RIT. In addition to her game-deciding goal on Saturday, Sutton assisted on Shannon Yoxheimer’s tying tally to post the first multi-point game of her collegiate career.
Sutton was not only a star in the offensive zone, she was a force in her own zone as well as she recorded a team-high nine blocked shots over the course of the two games.
