This Day in MN Hockey History: Sept. 22

1957:  Former NHL left winger Mark Johnson born in Madison, Wisconsin.  Johnson played in the NHL 1979-80 through 1989-90 with Pittsburgh, the Minnesota North Stars, Hartford, St. Louis and New Jersey.

1971:  Former NHL right wing Owen Nolan born in Belfast, Northern Ireland.  Nolan played in the NHL 1990-91 through 2009-10 with Quebec, Colorado, San Jose, Toronto, Phoenix, Calgary, and the Minnesota Wild.

1980:  The Washington Capitals and the Minnesota North Stars played in an exhibition game held in Stockholm, Sweden.  The Capitals defeated the North Stars 4-3 in OT after 85 minutes and 1 second.
