The Overtime Radio Show took a different course today as the show featured contributor Tim Kohlemainen and host Pete Waggoner discussing the recent article that was posted on the MNHockeyHub by David La Vaque that was title ‘Player exodus dividing high school hockey.’ It centered around the number of players that have left high school for other opportunities.
Kohlemainen delivers a compelling story that disputes that it would be a ‘watered down’ tournament and Waggoner asserted that the tournament will always be of high quality as it is based on community pride and interest.
Numbers include players that have left for AAA Midget hockey and tier 3 junior leagues in search of more ice time and opportunity as well, and may not be viewed as competitive as the MSHSL as the track record of Division I and NHL draft picks would suggest when comparing leagues.
At the end of the show the hosts took a look at some of the scores that played out on Tuesday night.
