1929: Cecil ‘Tiny’ Thompson, one year removed from playing with the Minneapolis Millers, records his 9th shutout of his rookie season as the Boston Bruins win 3-0 over the Blackhawks in a game played at Fort Frances, Ontario.
1942: Former NHL goalie Ken Broderick born in Toronto, Ont. Broderick played in the NHL 1969-70 through 1974-75 with the Minnesota North Stars and Boston.
1972: Minnesota Governor Wendell Anderson, along with then President; Donald M. Clark and Secretary D. Kelly Campbell, turn the spades at the groundbreaking ceremony for the US Hockey Hall of Fame Museum in Eveleth, MN.
1974: Danny Grant scored twice and added an assist to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 4-2 win over the Blues at St. Louis.
1975: Blake Dunlop had three assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to an 8-4 win against the California Seals at the Met Center. The Seals scored three goals in a span of :43 during the game.
1978: Minnesota North Stars signed Bill Butters as a free agent.
1991: Minnesota goalie Jon Casey recorded his 7th career shutout as the North Stars won 3-0 at Detroit.
1994: Jon Casey was in goal as the Boston Bruins picked up a shutout in their first game against the Stars, a 3-0 victory in Dallas. It was Casey’s 15th career shutout.
1999: Vancouver Canucks acquired center Darby Hendrickson from the Toronto Maple Leafs for defenseman Chris McAllister.
2012: Devin Setoguchi had two goals and an assist for the Wild in a 4-3 shootout loss to the visiting Winnipeg Jets.
