1972: Cesare Maniago recorded his 22nd career shutout as the Minnesota North Stars extended their team-record home undefeated streak to 8 straight games (7-0-1) with a 5-0 win over the Atlanta Flames.
1974: Former NHL forward Pavol Demitra born in Dubnica, Czech. Demitra played in the NHL 1993-94 thru 2009-10 with Ottawa, St. Louis, Los Angeles, the Minnesota Wild, and Vancouver.
1975: Bryan Hextall scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 5-3 win over the Capitals at the Met Center.
1977: Roland Eriksson scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 4-3 win over the Atlanta Flames at the Met Center.
1979: Bill Barber and Paul Holmgren each scored a goal and added two assists as the Flyers extended their team-record undefeated streak to 19 straight games (16-0-3), with a 6-4 win over the visiting Minnesota North Stars.
1980: Steve Payne scored two goals and an assist, and Bobby Smith had a goal and two assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 4-2 win against the Canadiens, at Montreal.
1982: Neal Broten and Tom McCarthy each scored a goal and added two assists to lead the North Stars to a 3-3 tie against the visiting Flames. All Minnesota goals were scored in the third period, and all Calgary goals were scored in the second period.
1983: Neal Broten had 4 assists as the Minnesota North Stars trailed by three goals halfway thru the game in the second straight game, but came back to win for the second straight time, with a 6-4 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.
1984: Aaron Broten scored twice to lead the Devils to a 2-1 win at Philadelphia.
1985: Philadelphia traded defenseman Ed Hospodar and center Todd Bergen to the Minnesota North Stars for defenseman Dave Richter and right wing Bo Berglund.
1985: Reed Larson scored a goal and added two assists as the Red Wings won 5-3 over the Blues in Detroit.
1986: Bryan Erickson scored two goals and two assists, Dave Taylor had a goal and three assists and defenseman Grant Ledyard added a goal and two assists in the Kings’ 9-6 win over the Devils, at the Forum.
1986: Minnesota’s Dennis Maruk scored a goal and added two assists in the North Stars’ 7-2 win at Toronto.
