1967:  Former North Stars defenseman Brian Glynn born in Iserlohn, W.Germany.  Glynn played in the NHL 1987-88 through 1996-97.

1974:  Bill Goldsworthy scored two goals and an assist, and Jude Drouin had a goal and two assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 3-1 win over the California Seals, at the Met Center.

1975:  Former NHL left winger Matt Johnson born in Welland, Ont.  Johnson played in the NHL 1994-95 through 2003-04 with Los Angeles, Atlanta and the Minnesota Wild.

1982:  Neal Broten scored his first NHL hat trick & Steve Payne had three goals (the 5th hat trick of his career) along with an assist, and Bobby Smith added a goal and four assists in the Minnesota North Stars’ 8-8 tie with the Islanders, at New York.

1983:  Dave Christian picked up two assists to lead the Capitals to a 2-2 tie against the Black Hawks in Washington.  Troy Murray and Rick Paterson each scored a goal and an assist for Chicago.

1984:  Steve Payne scored a goal and added two assists to lead the North Stars to a 5-4 win over the New Jersey Devils in Minnesota.

1984:  Calgary rookie Joel Otto played in his first career NHL game, a 3-1 loss against St. Louis.

1990:  Minnesota’s Brian Bellows scored his 5th career hat trick and had an assist to lead the North Stars to a 6-4 win against Vancouver.

1991:  Dave Gagner scored twice in the second period to lead the North Stars to a 2-2 tie against the Red Wings, in Minnesota.

2001:  Marian Gaborik scored twice, including one of three goals by the Wild’s power-play unit as Minnesota won 5-2 against the visiting Phoenix Coyotes.  Gaborik also added an assist in the game.

2002:  Marian Gaborik scored his 4th career hat trick as the Wild won 4-2 over the visiting Nashville Predators.

2007:  New Jersey goalie Martin Brodeur recorded his 93rd career shutout, and Jamie Langenbrunner had three assists in a 3-0 win against the Thrashers at Atlanta.

2009:  Minnesota Wild obtained Guillaume Latendresse from the Montreal Canadiens, in exchange for Benoit Pouliot.

2010:  Minnesota Wild claimed Patrick O’Sullivan on waivers from the Carolina Hurricanes.

2010:  Anaheim Ducks acquired center Stefan Chaput and right wing Matt Kennedy from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for center Ryan Carter.

2011:  Minnesota Wild signed 51-year-old free agent goaltender Paul Deutsch to a contract; he served as a backup goaltender.
