1965: Former NHL left winger Clark Donatelli born in Providence, Rhode Island. Donatelli played in the NHL 1989-90 through 1991-92 with the Minnesota North Stars and Boston.
1972: Toronto’s Dave Keon scored his 297th career goal to become the Maple Leafs’ All-Time leading goal scorer, passing Frank Mahovlich and George Armstrong (who each had 296 goals). Maple Leafs lost 3-1 to the North Stars, in Minnesota.
1973: Minnesota’s 44-year-old Gump Worsley faced St. Louis’ 20-year-old John Davidson in a game with the largest age gap between goaltenders in NHL history (23 years, 289 days); the Blues won the game 3-2 over the visiting North Stars.
1990: Edmonton traded Bruce Bell to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Kari Takko.
1991: Rookie goaltender Tom Draper picked up his first and only career NHL shutout, in a 2-0 Sabres’ win over the Blackhawks, at the Aud. The win improved his record to 4-0-1. Dave Snuggerud picked up both assists in the game.
1996: Los Angeles obtained Neal Broten from New Jersey, in exchange for future considerations.
2000: Jeff Nielsen scored his first goal as a member of the Wild when Minnesota tied 1-1 against the visiting Calgary Flames.
2006: Minnesota set a team record for most shots in a period, when they took 22 in the second period of a 4-2 loss at Montreal.
2007: Minnesota Wild claimed forward Todd Fedoruk off waivers from Dallas.
